$421,000 Valley Victory winner has close Australian connection

Diabolic Hill, the winner of the Grade 1 $421,000 Valley Victory for two-year-old male trotters in 1:53.6 at The Meadowlands last Saturday, has close breeding links with Classic Connection, who is standing this season at Goulburn Valley Equine, Shepparton under the banner of Yabby Dam Farms.

The winner of five of his 10 starts and $506,636, Diabolic Hill is out of the Swedish mare Crysti Dream, a half-sister to Crys Dream (1:53.4), the $1.2 million winning dam of Classic Connection.

The pedigree of Classic Connection oozes brilliance, class and early speed.

Crys Dream won three Grade 1 races as a two and three-year-old, was voted the USA and Canadian 2YO Trotting Filly of the Year in 2010 and was regarded as one of the best fillies of her era.

Classic Connection, by the French trotting colossus Love You, is her first foal.

After starting his racing career in Germany, where he captured the 3YO Breeders Crown, Classic Connection won a further four races at Group level in France and finished up with a stake tally of $614,631.

Classic Connection was retired to stud in 2021 and from his first crop he sired 26 foals, of whom five have raced as two-year-olds, four have been successful and one has been placed.

He is the second leading first season trotting sire based on winners and prizemoney.

Among his winners are the talented fillies Afternoon Breeze, the winner of three of her four starts including the Listed Bob Conroy Classic and runner-up in the $75,000 Nutrien Equine Classic, and Cee Cee In Paris (1:59.1), winner of the NSW Foundation Final, and the Victorian provincial winners Hammer and Franco Americano.

Classic Connection’s chilled semen is available in Australia for $3,850 including GST and in New Zealand for $4,400 including GST. There are discounts of $500 from the service fee for NZ breeders and further discounts of $500 off the working fee for mares based at Wai Eyre Farm and Macca Lodge until the end of the season.
