Australian First for Bold Eagle
Champion French sire Bold Eagle has broken new ground in the Southern Hemisphere.
Three-year-old filly Queen Of Sees gave the great his first Australian-bred winner at Bendigo on Wednesday, May 20.
Having just her third race start and first as a three-year-old, the Jess Tubbs-trained Queen Of Sees rated 1:59.3 over 1650m as she went to line seven metres clear.
Queen Of Sees was bred by Yabby Dam Farms and is out of outstanding race mare Dance Craze - a daughter of legendary racemare and broodmare La Coocaracha.
Bold Eagle has had 20 Australian-bred foals - his oldest being three-year-olds - and to date just two have raced.
Bold Eagle had produced two New Zealand-bred winners.
Kyvalley Ray NZ opened Bold Eagle’s Southern Hemisphere winning account when he scored on debut as a two-year-old at Maryborough last season.
Kyvalley Ray has gone onto win eight times (6 in NZ and 2 in Australia) and establish himself has NZ’s premier three-year-old trotter.
He’s won three group 1s - IRT Sires Stakes Series 2yo Championship, IRT Sires Stakes Series 3yo Championship and Northern Trotting Derby.
Bold Eagle is also the sire of 2yo colt Apollo Eleven NZ, which has delivered three wins in NZ, including the Group 1 IRT Young Guns Easton Light Classic.
