BROODMARE SELECTION REAPS REWARDS

Yabby Dam Farms has put together an elite band of broodmares over the journey.

There has been and is the cream of crop from across Australia and New Zealand, and a host of North American and European mares - a number of the latter first racing in Australia before going to stud.

The benefits of all this have been on show in the past week with YDF-bred winners out of French, NZ and Italian-bred mares.

2yo filly Afternoon Breeze was the eye-catcher, the daughter of Classic Connection Fr winning on debut at Kilmore on July 31.

She is out Italian-bred mare Onestar LB, a daughter of US great Cantab Hall.

Onestar LB is an Italian blue blood.

She’s out of Gilly LB Ita, which is also the dam of multiple group 1 European winner and Great Southern Star winner Callmethebreeze Fra and mare Ethic Etaitvrai Fra, which has gone to stud for Yabby Dam Farms after arriving in Australia unbeaten in four starts.

Kyvalley Jagger, a daughter of French-bred Destinee Jenilou, had his second win at Bendigo on July 30 and Prohibited Love had his fifth win as one of three winners out of Aspiring Love NZ.

Destinee Jenilou was imported by YDF as a racing proposition and won nine races, including multiple group 3s and country cups.

Kyvalley Jagger is her only foal to race.
