WELL AND TRULY USED TO EACH OTHER
When it comes to equine mates, they don’t come much closer than trotters At The Distance and Against The Bridle.
As the old saying goes, the six-year-old sons of French-bred stallion Used To Me are as thick as thieves.
It’s no wonder, they’ve rarely been separated.
They were born just 11 days apart - At The Distance on October 5, 2019, and Against The Bridle on October 16.
And since then the Leigh Graham-bred and Ross Graham-trained duo have shared the same paddock.
The only time they’re apart is when racing engagements vary, but even those are not too often these days.
They have raced at the same meetings - often in the same race - 10 times this seasons.
There’s not much between their race records either.
Against The Bridle has raced 94 times for 11 wins, 15 seconds and 11 thirds, earnings $53,400.
At The Distance has a race record of 86 starts for 11 wins, nine seconds, eight thirds for $56,150.
And just to top it off, they also share their day paddock with another of Used To Me’s progeny in Avant Guard.
Also a six-year-old bred by Leigh Graham, Avant Guard has 11 wins for more than $110,000 in stakes.
