BELLE NEIGE TAKES AIM AT DOMINION
Belle Neige is throwing her name in the hat for a start in one of New Zealand’s most prestigious trotting features.
The NZ-based mare has been nominated for the Group 1 $400,000 Dominion Trot at Addington on November 11.
The Michelle Wallis and Bernie Hackett-trained Belle Neige has put her name to the forefront with three consecutive victories at Auckland’s Alexandra Park.
Her latest win came over 1700m, on Friday, September 12.
“We think she won’t be out of place in the major trots,” Wallis said.
“We are not saying she will win them, but she might be good enough to contest them.
“That is why we nominated her for the Dominion.”
The Yabby Dam Farms-bred and owned five-year-old daughter of Love You has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since moving to NZ.
Belle Neige has won 7 times, including the $100,000 Golden Gait in 1:56.6 late last year, and taken her earnings to $NZ140,000
YDF-bred and owned Courmayeur, also trained by Wallis and Hackett, is also among the 41 nominations for the the Dominion.
