Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Trotters Classic announced FOR NEW ZEALAND

Yabby Dam Farms is pleased to announce plans for a $75,000 2YO Trotters Classic in Canterbury in the Spring of 2030.

Yabby Dam Farms owner Pat Driscoll said the initiative reflects his ongoing commitment to supporting and growing the trotting industry.

“I am extremely passionate about the sport and want to provide a race for owners, breeders and trainers to aspire to win, a race that can become a genuine target on the calendar,” Driscoll said.

The Yabby Dam Farms 2YO Trotters Classic will be open to fillies, colts and geldings by Yabby Dam Farms stallions, produced from mares bred during the 2026 breeding season.

“We have a very attractive and varied array of stallions for breeders to choose from. From one end of the YDF stallion roster to the other, there is a great chance of producing progeny capable of contending a future Classic final,” Driscoll said.

The New Zealand initiative follows Yabby Dam Farms’ announcement of two $75,000 2YO Trotters Classic Finals in Victoria in 2030, one for fillies and one for colts and geldings.

Yabby Dam Farms currently has 12 stallions available to New Zealand breeders, along with a further five stallions available exclusively in Australia.

To celebrate the announcement of the Canterbury Classic, Yabby Dam Farms is offering breeders a 20% discount on the advertised service fees of its chilled stallions based in New Zealand.

To be eligible for the offer, breeders must book their mare, have their service contract signed and pay the $250 + GST semen collection and processing fee by September 30, 2026.
